TEXT SIZE - +

Authorities in Slovakia say seven people are dead after a gunman opened fire in the streets of Bratislava.  Another 14 people were wounded.

The mid-morning shooting Monday took place in a northwestern district, Devinska Nova Ves, of the capital.  Local media said the shooter killed himself after the rampage, but police have not confirmed the reports.

A spokeswoman for a Bratislava hospital said a three-year-old child is among the wounded.

Police have not commented on the attack, but are scheduled to hold a news conference later Monday.

Some information for this report was provided by AP and AFP.
