Suicide Bomber Kills Senior Iraqi Military Official

Iraqi officials say a suicide bomber has killed a senior military intelligence officer and two of his bodyguards. Earlier reports said three guards died.

The deadly blast took place Saturday in northern Iraq.

Officials say Brigadier General Ali Aouni was killed in a blast when the bomber set off his explosives as Aouni was leaving his house in Tal Afar.

Iraq has seen an increase in attacks in recent weeks.
