Three Americans held captive by Shi'ite rebels in Yemen have been released and evacuated to the Omani capital.
Oman's state news agency reports the three were flown out of the rebel-held capital Sanaa late Wednesday.
The Omani statement did not identify the Americans.
But independent security officials said the two were reportedly working with the United Nations at the time they were detained. They say all three were held by the rebel controlled intelligence agency over accusations of spying.
Hundreds of foreigners have been held in Yemen as political hostages or for ransom. Most are released unharmed.
Yemen has been split by fighting between Iranian-backed Houthi Shi'ite rebels and allied army units against forces loyal to the internationally recognized government, as well as southern separatists and militants.
According to the United Nations, more than 5,600 Yemenis have been killed since the Saudi-led intervention began in March. Dozens of soldiers from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and other coalition members have also died.
