Three Dead, 20 Missing in Colombia Mine Collapse

At least three people are dead and 20 missing in a cave-in at an illegal gold mine in Colombia.

Colombian officials say the collapse occurred late Wednesday in a rural area about 315 kilometers southwest of Bogota.

Cauca province Governor Temistocles Ortega says illegal miners use machinery to open huge holes to extract gold, and one of the walls of a hole fell in.

Police, troops, civil defense and the Red Cross are helping in rescue efforts.
