Thai authorities say at least two people have been killed in explosions and an overnight shooting attack on anti-government demonstrators in Bangkok.
Officials at the emergency services center in the capital say 21 people also were wounded in the assault early Thursday.
The attacks bring the death toll in the Thai political turmoil to at least 27, with more than 800 wounded since November.
Fears have intensified that the nation's political deadlock could spiral into street clashes after the Constitutional Court removed Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on charges of abuse of power. Her supporters have vowed to defend the government, which has limped on despite her removal from office.
The anti-government protesters are calling for the caretaker government to be dissolved and replaced by a non-elected council to rule the country while political reforms are carried out.
