Plane Crash in Mexico Kills 2 Lawmakers, 4 Others


A small plane crash in Mexico has left six people dead, including two members of the country's Congress.

Investigators say Guillermo Zavaleta and Juan Huerta were killed Friday when the aircraft crashed in the Pacific beach resort of Huatulco, in the state of Oaxaca. The legislators belonged to President Felipe Calderon's National Action Party.

Three other passengers, including a mayor-elect, were killed, along with the pilot.

Officials say the plane had taken off from the state of Mexico and crashed shortly before landing in Huatulco.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
