Bosnia Arrests Srebrenica Massacre Suspect

Bosnian police have arrested a former Bosnian Serb police officer suspected of genocide in the 1995 massacre of 8,000 Muslim men and boys.

Authorities Monday said Dragan Crnogorac has been arrested by the State Investigation and Protection agency in the northern town of Banja Luka.

The 38-year-old is accused of personally taking part in the executions of Bosnian Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica, in what is considered the worst atrocity in Europe since World War Two.

Prosecutors say Crnogorac was a member of Bosnian Serb forces that captured the U.N.-protected Srebrenica enclave on July 11, 1995, at the end of Bosnia's three-year war.

The Bosnian war crimes court has put dozens of Bosnian Serbs on trial for complicity in the Srebrenica killings.
