Sonam Wangdue is a stand-up comedian and actor based in New York City. After studying film and stage acting from the Imago School of Acting and Padmini Kolhapure Acting School located in Delhi, India, Sonam acted in few of the independently produced Tibetan feature films such as, ‘We’re No Monks’, ‘Dreaming Lhasa’, and various Tibet Action Institute’s informational shorts and videos. However, Sonam is probably known more for his skills as a stand-up comedian than acting within the Tibetan community in the diaspora. Sonam tells VOA that while growing up, he had always been fascinated and drew inspirations from the field of art and acting.
