Horseback Riders Kick Off Rodeo Season in Houston
The annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest event of its kind in the world, kicked off on Saturday with a downtown parade featuring trail riders from all over Texas and even as far as the Mexican border region. The trail rides are themselves part of a tradition that dates back to 1952. As VOA’s Greg Flakus reports, that tradition remains strong, even though Houston's urban area has grown much larger.
