Hillary Clinton accepted the Democratic Party's nomination for president Thursday night with a message stressing the need to unite in order to confront the nation's challenges. "It truly is up to us," she said.

The convention chairwoman Marcia Fudge has gavelled out the Democratic National Convention.

The Reverend Bill Shillady, of the United Methodist City Society in New York, is giving the benediction.

There are 102 days until the November 8 general election.

There are three presidential debates scheduled so far:

September 26, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.; October 9, at Washington University in St. Louis; October 19, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas

One vice presidential debate will be held: October 4, at Longwood University in Farmville, Va.
