Duncan Leads Spurs Past 76ers in NBA Action


In National Basketball Association action Thursday, Tim Duncan scored a season-high 34 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs to an 88-80 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. San Antonio has won five games in a row, while Philadelphia is on a two-game losing streak.

In Charlotte, LeBron James scored 19 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to their fifth straight win, a 106-89 rout of the host Bobcats. Cleveland is two games above .500 for the first time since 1999.

The New York Knicks came back from an 11-point fourth quarter deficit to stun the Houston Rockets, 93-92. Kurt Thomas led the Knicks with 21 points and 14 rebounds. China's Yao Ming had 23 points and 11 rebounds for Houston.
