US Maintains Perfect Record at UBS Cup Team Golf Event

update

The United States kept its record perfect at the UBS Cup team golf event by defeating the international team in the Ryder Cup-style match-play event.

Playing in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, the U.S. team posted a 14-10 score to win the cup for the fourth straight year. The victory for golfers age 40 and over also kept Arnold Palmer's record perfect as a captain in international team golf (four UBS Cups, two Ryder Cups and a President's Cup).

The Americans entered Sunday's singles matches with a one point lead. Each team won three of the day's first six matches. But the Americans won three of the last six matches and halved the three others.

The United States has won every UBS Cup event since it was first held in 2001.
