Pakistan Welcomes Cricket Team Home After India Tour

Hundreds of fans turned out in Lahore and Karachi to welcome home members of Pakistan's victorious cricket team. The fans waved flags and showered players with flower petals Monday evening following the team's triumphant tour of India.

Before leaving for the series, the cricketers had been criticized as Pakistan's weakest team to tour India in five decades. But Pakistan scored a 1-1 draw in the three-match test series, then cruised to 4-2 win in six one-day matches, capping it off with a 159-run win in New Delhi on Sunday.

Pakistan vice captain Younis Khan said the win in India was made through "team spirit," with everyone on the team playing his role in the triumph.

The cricket series also helped further another round of peace talks between the two rival nations. Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf attended Sunday's final match at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
