Iraq Insurgents Threaten to Kill Romanian Hostages

Insurgents in Iraq have threatened to kill three kidnapped Romanian journalists and their Iraqi-American translator unless Romania withdraws its troops from Iraq.

The Arabic television channel al-Jazeera broadcast the videotaped threat Friday. The video shows the hostages appealing to the Romanian government to announce the withdrawal of its 800 troops within four days. Otherwise, the insurgents say the hostages will be executed.

Earlier, a car bomb attack on a Shi'ite mosque in Baghdad killed at least nine people and wounded 20 others. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack outside the al-Subeih mosque during Friday prayers.
