A statement on the band's website says the free concert, authorized by both U.S. and Cuban officials, represents an opportunity to share with the Cuban youth the free expression of music that embodies rock and roll.
The band is due to perform on Havana's Anti-Imperialist Stage, which has been used for protests against the U.S. government.
Speaking in Havana Thursday, lead singer Chris Cornell said his band's trip to Cuba is proof that music can transcend politics.
Cornell, former lead singer of the band Soundgarden, is joined in Audioslave by ex-members of Rage Against the Machine.
