At least 13 people, including two journalists, have been killed in Iraq, as insurgents renewed attacks across Baghdad and beyond.

The two Iraqi journalists and their driver were killed Monday in an ambush south of the capital. Two other reporters were killed in the same area Sunday.

To the north, four Iraqi soldiers were killed when an army patrol chasing insurgents near Khan Bani Saad was hit by a roadside bomb. Two civilians died in a similar blast in Baghdad. Nearby, authorities say four insurgents were killed in a failed ambush aimed at an Iraqi general, when bodyguards returned fire. The general escaped unharmed.

Earlier today, the bodies of 12 Iraqi men killed execution style were found in northeast Baghdad. In all, 46 bound and bullet-riddled bodies have been found at four sites in the country since Saturday.
