Separately, two Palestinian militants, including one local leader, were killed during a gun battle with Israeli soldiers near the West Bank town of Jenin early today.
The Israeli military said one soldier was also wounded in the firefight that broke out when soldiers converged to arrest a wanted militant. Some information for this report provided by Reuters, AP and AFP.
