Bangladesh's cricket team has shocked world champions Australia by beating the Aussies by five wickets in a triangular series match at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, Wales.

Bangladesh lost the toss and Australia batted first, reaching 249 for five in 50 overs. Damien Martyn was the top scorer for Australia with 77 runs while Michael Clarke added 54. Simon Katich was unbeaten on 36, but Bangladeshi bowler Tapash Baisya took three wickets while allowing only 69 runs.

Bangladesh then scored 250 for five in 49.2 overs with Mohammad Ashraful scoring 100 runs and Habibul Bashar adding 46 before being run out.

The win is Bangladesh's biggest since it became a test-playing nation. The odds makers had Australia as 100-1 favorites to win.
