Person Arrested Over Discovery of Explosives at Srebrenica Memorial

update

Some 30 kilograms of explosive found near the Potocari memorial center apparently planted there ahead of 10th anniversary of the massacre in Srebrenica
Bosnian Serb officials say an arrest has been made over the discovery of explosives at a memorial that honors Muslim victims of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre.

Authorities say the person arrested Wednesday was from the northeastern town of Tuzla.

They say a search is underway at some locations used by the individual.

The arrest comes a day after Bosnian Serb police found about 35 kilograms of explosives at the memorial in Potocari, outside Srebrenica.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to gather in Potocari Monday to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre.

In 1995, Serb forces killed some 8,000 Muslim men and boys after capturing the Srebrenica enclave in eastern Bosnia-Herzegovina. Thousands of bodies have since been recovered from mass graves.
