The U.S. men's national soccer team will close its qualifying campaign for the 2006 World Cup in Germany with a home game against Panama.
The U.S. Soccer Federation announced Wednesday the game will be in Foxboro, Massachusetts on October 12. The U.S. team could secure its place in the World Cup finals before the last game. The United States and Mexico face each other Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.
Either team would guarantee a trip to Germany with a victory, and both could advance if they tie, depending on other results in the region on Saturday.
The United States has five wins, one loss and no ties so far. The 10-game round-robin tournament also includes Costa Rica, Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago.
