The U.S.- led coalition in Afghanistan has killed three suspected al-Qaida fighters during a military operation near the border with Pakistan.
Local officials also say two suspected al-Qaida members were arrested in the operation, which included Afghan troops, in Kunar province. Few other details were given.
About 20,000 troops, most of them Americans, are involved in fighting a Taleban insurgency and hunting al-Qaida terrorists in southern and eastern Afghanistan.
