Swedish golfer Annika Sorenstam has closed out another spectacular year with her 10th tournament victory, winning the ADT Championship in West Palm Beach, Florida by two shots.
Sorenstam held off a spirited charge from fellow-Swede Liselotte Neumann Sunday, as she sank a key four-meter birdie putt on the 16th hole to give her the cushion she needed for the win. Sorenstam fired a three-under-par final round of 69 to finish the tournament with a six-under total of 282.
Neumann three-putted from off the green on the final hole while going for a birdie to force a playoff. She finished the day at two-under-par 70. Michele Redman of the United States and South Korea's Soo-yun Kang each carded a 69 and tied for second place with totals of 284.
Sorenstam is the first player to successfully defend her title in the LPGA's version of a Tour Championship. She has now won the event four times.
