State-run media in Saudi Arabia say seven terror suspects have escaped from a prison in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Media reports quote an Interior Ministry statement Saturday as saying the fugitives - six Saudis and a Yemeni - were religious extremists who had been arrested in separate incidents over the past year.
The Interior Ministry did not say when the men escaped.
Saudi Arabia has been battling a campaign of violence by al-Qaida militants seeking to topple the pro-U.S. monarchy and expel foreigners from the birthplace of Islam.
