In U.S. college football action, the University of California at Los Angeles has beaten archrival Southern California 13-9 to deny USC a shot at the national championship.
UCLA scored first Saturday, but trailed USC at halftime, 9-7. Two field goals by Justin Medlock and a key interception late in the game gave UCLA the upset win.
The defeat means USC will not qualify for the national title game against Ohio State on January 8.
Fourth-ranked Florida may have earned a spot in that game with a 38-28 win over number eight Arkansas. Florida freshman Percy Harvin scored two touchdowns, and the Gators scored on a blocked punt to earn the victory.
The final post-season bowl standings will be issued Sunday with either Florida or third-ranked Michigan earning the right to face Ohio State for the national championship.
In other games featuring top-10 teams Saturday, number six Louisville trounced outmanned Connecticut, 48-17. And, number eight Oklahoma beat 19th-ranked Nebraska, 19-7.
In Philadelphia, Navy beat Army 26-14 to keep the Commander in Chief's trophy. The Midshipmen have outscored the Black Knights by a 202-68 margin the last five years and boosted their overall series lead to 51-49-7.
