Israeli Aircraft Fires on Suspected Palestinian Rocket Sites

update

The Israeli military has carried out an airstrike in the Gaza Strip against what it called Palestinian militants who had launched rockets at Israel. No one was hurt in the airstrike.

The Israeli army said about 15 rockets were fired toward Israel from the Gaza Strip Friday. There were no reports of casualties.

Earlier Friday, Israeli security forces blew up a tunnel on the outskirts of the village of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza allegedly used to facilitate terror attacks inside Israel.

At least three Palestinian militants were wounded late Thursday when an explosion ripped through a house in the southern Gaza town of Khan Yunis. At least six Palestinians were killed and 26 wounded in Khan Yunis during clashes with Israeli security forces earlier this week.

Thursday, the militant group Hamas announced that an influential clan linked to the kidnapping of a BBC reporter turned in 60 weapons to Hamas's Executive Force. Members of the clan clashed with Executive force fighters on Tuesday. BBC reporter Alan Johnston was abducted in March and release in June. Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip in June in fighting with the rival Fatah group.

Some information for this report was provided by AFP and AP.
