Kiwis Beat Bangladesh, Take Series 2-0

Strong batting from Jamie How, Peter Fulton and Jacob Oram along with a torrential rain storm have helped New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 102 runs to take their second one-day international cricket match in Napier.

The victory gave the Kiwis the series, 2-0.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first on a nearly-perfect pitch at McLean Park. How scored a total of 74 runs while Fulton added 83 and was voted man of the match for his efforts. Oram added another 55 runs as New Zealand reached 335-5 in 50 overs.

Bangladesh could not reach the victory target - scoring 185-6 in 43 overs. Aftab Ahmed top scored for Bangladesh with 55 runs while Kiwi bowler Kyle Mills took four wickets for 40 runs. Rain stopped play seven overs early, and New Zealand's win total was determined using the Duckworth-Lewis method.

The third one-day match of the series is scheduled for Monday in Wellington. The two sides will also play two test matches, with the first test starting next Friday in Dunedin.
