Iraqi police say a car bomb explosion has killed eight people in a Shiite district of Baghdad.
At least 14 other people were wounded in the blast.
Police say Tuesday's attack targeted a mosque in Baghdad's Kadhimiya district.
Monday a string of deadly bombings across mostly Shi'ite areas of the capital left at least 34 people dead and more than 100 others wounded.
The attacks come amid rising tensions between the Shi'ite-led government and Sunni paramilitary groups organized by U.S. forces.
Despite the recent unrest, overall levels of violence have fallen this year. The United States plans to fully withdraw its troops from the country by 2011.
