Yang Wins Golf's PGA Championship

South Korean Y.E. Yang has become the first Asian-born golfer to win a major championship, and he outplayed world number one American Tiger Woods to claim the PGA Championship in Chaska, Minnesota.

Woods held a two-shot advantage entering the final round Sunday at Hazeltine National. He had a 14-0 record in winning major tournaments when holding the lead after three rounds. But this time Woods faltered on the greens, missing several key puts.

Yang pulled ahead by one shot with four holes remaining and was able to maintain that slim advantage over Woods until the final hole. Yang hit the flagstick on his approach shot and sank the putt for the win, finishing at eight-under-par 280. Woods placed second, three shots back - five-under-par 283.

Woods finishes the year without a major title for the first time in five years.

Lee Westwood of England and Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland tied for third, five shots back - three-under-par 285.
