With all eyes on the latest Israeli-Palestinian flareup, the United States is seeking any nation which can help diplomatic efforts in the Middle East or in the global fight against terrorism.
One such nation might be a former enemy, Iran. Iran was quick to offer condolences following the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States and American leaders welcomed the warm words. Then, there was a handshake in New York between top diplomatic officials.
