Bush 'Outraged' by Islamabad Church Attack

President Bush says he is outraged by the grenade attack in Islamabad that claimed the lives of five people and wounded 45 others. Mr. Bush says the attack was the work of terrorists and that those responsible will be found and brought to justice.

In a written statement, Mr. Bush says these acts cannot be tolerated by any person of conscience nor justified by any cause. He offers condolences to the families of the victims, and vows to work closely with the government of Pakistan to track down the attackers and bring them to trial.

So far, there have been no arrests or claims of responsibility for the attack. It occurred during Sunday worship services at a Protestant church in a heavily guarded diplomatic enclave, not far from the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.

The attackers tossed grenades into the packed church. Two Americans, an Afghan, and a Pakistani are among the dead. The wounded include worshippers from the United States, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Ethiopia and Germany.
