U.S. pop star Gloria Estefan and actor Jimmy Smits will headline this year's Latin Grammy awards, a branch of the United States' top music awards that deals specifically with Latin-American music.
Officials announced the plans for the September telecast on Tuesday.
Last year's ceremony was cancelled because of the September 11 attacks on the United States.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held in Hollywood on September 18. Leading nominees for this year are Colombian musician Carlos Vives with six nominations and Celia Cruz with four.
