Mirnyi advanced after upsetting sixth-seeded Guillermo Coria of Argentina in straight sets 6-2, 7-5.

Eighth seeded German Rainer Schuetter and American Mardy Fish will play in the tournament's other semifinal Saturday.

Schuetter defeated American Robby Ginepri in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, and Fish knocked off Argentine David Nalbandian 7-6, 6-3 to advance Friday.
