Top-seeded Kim Clijsters has bounced back from her defeat in the Australian Open final by beating Mary Pierce of France to win the Paris Open tennis tournament in France. The 6-2, 6-1 win was the 20th career title for the world number-two 20-year-old from Belgium. The 29-year old Pierce was playing her first WTA final since winning the French Open in 2000. The home crowd firmly backed the Frenchwoman as she played in her first tournament coming off a three-month break. Even so, Clijsters dominated the match Sunday. She hit her shots cleanly and deep and made only five unforced errors while breaking Pierce four times without losing her own serve. The Belgian appeared to play without any trace of the left-foot injury which bothered her during the Australian Open. Clijsters says she is happy to be able to practice and play full-out again.
