Three-time major tournament winner Lindsay Davenport of the United States has reached the finals of the Strasbourg Open clay-court tennis tournament in France.

Davenport made short work of third seed and defending champion Silvia Farina Elia of Italy, winning 6-2, 6-0. In the finals the American takes on unseeded Claudine Schaul of Luxembourg. Schaul scored a straight-set victory over Emilie Loit of France (6-4, 6-1).

Davenport has won every major tournament except the French Open, which begins Monday. She took the Australian Open title in 2000, won Wimbledon in 1999 and captured the U.S. Open title in 1998.

Meanwhile, at the Wien Energie Grand Prix tennis tournament in Vienna, Anna Smashnova-Pistolesi of Israel reached the finals of the clay-court event.

Smashnova-Pistolesi scored a straight-set win over fifth-seeded American Amy Frazier (7-5, 6-2). In the finals the Israeli player takes on Alicia Molik of Australia, a straight-set winner over eighth seed Jelena Kostanic of Croatia (6-4, 6-3).

Smashnova-Pistolesi is looking for her second title in Vienna. She won the tournament in 2002.
