Bolivian President-elect Evo Morales is in Paris, where he is to meet with French President Jacques Chirac Saturday.
Mr. Morales was elected Bolivia's first indigenous leader last month, and has been on a tour to reassure foreign investors wary of his plans to nationalize Bolivia's resources. He said Friday, "neo-liberalism is not the answer" for Bolivia - Latin America's poorest country.
He repeated that he would take only half his salary and use the savings for social programs.
Evo Morales will continue his tour with visits to China, South Africa and Brazil.
