Cricket: Australia Leads South Africa in Second Test Match

Australia's cricket team leads South Africa by 154 runs after the third day of their second test match in Melbourne.

The Australians bowled South Africa out for 311 to take a 44-run advantage. Australia increased its lead to 154 runs before the close of play.

South Africa started the day Wednesday at 169 for two, but lost eight wickets for 142 with Australia's Andrew Symonds and Brett Lee both taking three wickets each.

Australia is now in position to win the test and take a 1-0 lead in the series after the first test in Perth was a draw. The last time South Africa won a test match in Australia was five years ago in Sydney.
