Cricket: Pakistan Reaches 679-7 in First Test Match Against India

Pakistan's cricket team has amassed a huge total of 679-7 declared in its first innings on the second day of its first test against India in Lahore.

Resuming its innings at 326-2, Pakistan put India in danger of having to follow on, when Younis Khan scored 199 runs. Mohammad Yousuf added another 173 and Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal both scored centuries.

India managed 65 not out in reply before stumps were drawn 19 overs early, due to bad light at Gaddafi Stadium.

India needs 480 runs to save the follow-on and is hoping to avoid defeat in the first match of a three-test series.
