Indonesia says its troops have killed seven suspected rebels in the latest clashes in war-torn Aceh province.
An Indonesian military spokesman says the killings occurred Tuesday during several separate clashes in the province. The spokesman says at least seven firearms were seized from the rebels.
The rebel Free Aceh Movement has been fighting for an independent homeland in the Indonesian province since 1976. Jakarta began a major military operation last year to try and end the insurgency.
