MLB: Kansas City Royals Undefeated With 4 Straight Wins


The Kansas City Royals - the team with the worst record in Major League Baseball - is undefeated with four straight wins under new manager Buddy Bell. The Royals hung on and edged the Texas Rangers 2-1 Friday night.

The Detroit Tigers evened their record at 26 and 26 with a 5-3 thrashing of the American League East Division leading Baltimore Orioles. The Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Indians, 6-4, and the New York Yankees dropped their sixth straight in a 6-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins. The Boston Red Sox topped the Los Angeles Angels, 7-4.

In National League action the Washington Nationals rallied from behind for the second night in a row to beat the Florida Marlins 3-2 in eleven innings. The St. Louis Cardinals blanked the Houston Astros 2-0 and the Pittsburgh Pirates outlasted the Atlanta Braves, 3-1.

Games between the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks as well as the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants were postponed due to poor weather.
