Tennis: Nadal Reaches China Open Finals

French Open winner Rafael Nadal of Spain has reached the finals of the China Open hard-court tennis tournament in Beijing, after scoring a straight-set win over another former French Open winner.

Nadal, the top seed, ousted 2003 French Open champion and Spanish countryman Juan Carlos Ferrero in straight-sets 6-4, 6-4.

In Sunday's final, Nadal faces Argentina's Guillermo Coria, who overcame a first set loss to beat Thomas Johansson of Sweden in three sets 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. Coria showed some fatigue from having to play two matches on Friday, but was able to bounce back to beat the fourth-seeded Swedish player.

Sunday's final will be the fourth meeting between Coria and Nadal. Their three other matches have been on clay, with Nadal holding a 2-1 lead in the series. Their last meeting was at the Rome Masters tournament earlier this year with Nadal winning in five sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, and 7-6.
