Liberia Preliminary Vote Count Announced

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who is also Liberia's incumbent president, votes in Feefee in Bomi County, Liberia, October 11, 2011.

Liberia's electoral commission Thursday announced preliminary results from this week's general elections. But the tally represents just a fraction of the country's polling districts. Final results are expected on October 26, which will decide whether a runoff will be needed for the top two presidential candidates: Incumbent Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Winston Tubman.
