LIVE BLOG: Hillary Clinton Accepts Democratic Nomination

update

Hillary Clinton accepted the Democratic Party's nomination for president Thursday night with a message stressing the need to unite in order to confront the nation's challenges. "It truly is up to us," she said.

Now speaking is Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. He begins his speech by saying that 30 years ago he lost his job.

When he says he couldn't find a job for months, he and a friend started Colorado's first brew pub (to cheers from the delegates).

Another excerpt from the speech Hillary Clinton is to deliver Thursday to the Democratic National Convention: "So I want to tell you tonight how we're going to empower all Americans to live better lives. My primary mission as president will be to create more opportunity and more good jobs with rising wages right here in the United States."

Actor Tony Goldwyn is not explaining, in a video, how the country's founders came together to write the U.S. Constitution.

Shortly before Hillary Clinton was to deliver her acceptance speech at the Democratic convention, her campaign released excerpts from the address:

Clinton is to say: "America is once again at a moment of reckoning. Powerful forces are threatening to pull us apart. Bonds of trust and respect are fraying. And just as with our founders there are no guarantees. It's truly is up to us. We have to decide whether we’re going to work together so we can all rise together."
