LIVE BLOG: Hillary Clinton Accepts Democratic Nomination

Hillary Clinton accepted the Democratic Party's nomination for president Thursday night with a message stressing the need to unite in order to confront the nation's challenges. "It truly is up to us," she said.

Next up is Lorella Praeli, Latino vote director for Hillary for America, she introduces herself as an American. The crowd gives a cheer.

Praeli talks about how she came to the U.S. from Peru.

"Because my parents were determined that I would reach my full potential and not be limited by my disability. And eventually, the only place that could contain such a vision was here in America," Praeli says.

Praeli tells the story of the hard work her mother did to provide for her children.

She says her mother taught her "to never give up, to believe in my dreams, and to fight to achieve them. In short, it was my undocumented mother that taught me what it is to be an American."

Congressman Joaquin Castro of Texas speaks. His identical twin brother, Julian, the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and who was a potential Hillary Clinton vice presidential candidate.
