New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is speaking, reminds delegates of his father, Mario's speech to the 1984 Democratic convention that to many people defined the values and principles of the Democratic Party.
"He loved being a Democrat," Cuomo says.
Mario Cuomo was New York’s governor when he gave the much-lauded keynote speech at the 1984 Democratic National Convention. The speech focused on a “tale of two cities” under Republican President Ronald Reagan.
Andrew Cuomo says the Republicans are playing on people's fears. And unless the Republicans are suffering short-term memory loss, they are immigrants, too.
In listening to the Republicans, they would cut this nation in half and turn them against each other, he says.
