Final Day of Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia

The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, end Sunday with what is expected to be a spectacular Closing Ceremony following the final three medal events of the Games.

First up is skiing's grueling 50-kilometer cross-country mass start for men, followed by the 4-man bobsleigh and the gold medal men's hockey game between defending champion Canada and Sweden.

The last chance for the United States to get a medal is likely to come in the bobsleigh where Steven Holcomb will pilot the team in his favorite event. A Russian team has a slight lead heading into the final two heats.

Russia won two gold medals and a bronze Saturday as the host nation took the lead in total medals, and is poised to win that honor. The U.S. was shut out Saturday.

Russia now has 29 medals, followed by the U.S. with 27 and Norway with 26. Russia also shares the lead with Norway in gold medals with 11 each.

Despite strong threats of violence ahead of the Sochi Games, the Olympics have been very safe heading into the final day.

The next Winter Games will take place in South Korea in 2018.
