Former French President Chirac Set for Embezzlement Trial

The lawyer for Jacques Chirac says the former French president will go on trial for embezzlement in Paris early next year.

Mr. Chirac is accused of abusing public funds while he was mayor of Paris.

He allegedly paid friends with city money for jobs that did not exist.

He could face up to 10 years in prison and fine of $159,000.
