Officials in northern France say a fire broke out at a birthday celebration at a bar, killing 13 people and injuring six. One of the injured is in critical condition. Reuters reports the victims are between the ages of 18 to 25.

The blaze swept through the Cuba Libre bar in the city of Rouen in Normandy early Saturday after birthday cake candles ignited the ceiling.

Scores of firefighters battled the flames at the city center bar.
