Malaysia Airlines has decided to rename a promotion that asked travelers what destinations they would like to visit before they die.
The airline, which has experienced two deadly disasters this year, acknowledged in a statement the "My Ultimate Bucket List" contest was inappropriate.

The campaign offered prizes including roundtrip flights to passengers who most creatively described the destinations on their "bucket list."

In its statement, the airline said it did not mean to offend, but that it was only using a common phrase, which refers to a list of things one wants to do before dying. It is not clear what the promotion will now be named.

The state-owned airline is struggling to attract customers following twin accidents that killed 537 people this year.

Flight MH370 disappeared in March, while on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. Authorities are searching the southern Indian Ocean for the jet.

In July, another flight, MH17, was shot down over Ukraine, where rebels are fighting Kyiv authorities. All 298 people on board were killed.
