Jamaica's Usain Bolt celebrates with the gold medal after winning the men's 100-meter final during the athletics competitions of the 2016 Summer Olympics at the Olympic stadium in Rio.

It’s hard to imagine Usain Bolt becoming more of an international celebrity than he was already, but a picture taken during his gold medal performance of the men’s 100-meter dash has gone viral.

The photo shows Bolt sprinting toward the finish line as he grins and looks to make sure he has the gold medal secured.

American sprinter Justin Gatlin took home the silver medal in the race, and Canadian Andre de Grasse took the bronze.

The Jamaican sprinter has taken the gold medal in the event for three straight Olympics and begins his quest for gold in the 200-meter race Tuesday.

"Somebody said I can become immortal," said Bolt. "Two more medals to go and I can sign off. Immortal."
