Obama Jokes at Annual Correspondents' Dinner

U.S. President Barack Obama poked some good-natured fun at himself Saturday at the annual White House Correspondents' dinner, an annual event that brings together Washington insiders with Hollywood celebrities.

Mr. Obama joked that his advisors had suggested he make jokes about himself, or "take [himself] down a peg." He said, "Guys, I've been in office four and a half years. How many pegs are left?"

He showed fake pictures of himself on the cover of a retirement magazine, and sporting a set of bangs - a hairstyle resembling his wife's.

Mr. Obama also took shots at various news networks, characterizing them as high school social groups such as jocks, Goths , and "the kids with the peanut allergies."

Before finishing his remarks, Mr. Obama recalled the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing and the recent explosion of a factory in Texas that took 14 lives.

Celebrities attending the event included actor Michael Douglas ,South Korean "Gangnum Style" pop star Psy, and late-night television comedian Conan O'Brien - the guest speaker who delivered a joke-filled speech poking fun at politicians.
